Submitting A GEOSAP Trail Map
Once a GEOSAP Trail Map has been completed, check to make sure that the map follows the latest version of the GEOSAP Standards. If the trail map follows all of the standards, save a .kmz file from Google Earth with the name of the Ski Area mapped. On GEOSAP, be sure you are logged in to the site, and then look at the bottom of the side-bar. In theAdd a New Page box, type the name of the ski area you are submitting a map for. Click new page and on the resulting screen, select the Areapage template. Title the page with the area of your ski area. Under the edit pane, fill in all of the variables with the corresponding data for your ski area, leaving all of the variables after liftcapacity blank. These values are filled in by the GEOSAP Software. In the trailmap field, fill in the URL for an online version of the trailmap which you used to make the GEOSAP map. The website will automatically resize the image for you. In the geosapmap field, fill in the URL of an uploaded image (uploaded to the ski area page you are working on) of the default view for the completed GEOSAP map of the area you are buiding the page for. For example:
[[include Areabox
|skiareaurl=THE URL OF THE MAPPED SKI AREA HOME PAGE
|trailmap=http://www.new-dream.de/image/wallpaper/sport/ski/ski-09.jpg
|name=ski area name

]]
becomes

Make sure the URLs include http:// and are a complete link. Anything left incomplete will be automatically linked to a local GEOSAP page and will fail to parse.
After you have filled out this basic information, complete the Flickr box at the bottom of the template.
[[table style="margin: 0 0px; width: 100%"]]
[[row]]
[[cell style="padding: 0px; width: 100%;"]]
+ Area Name Images
[[module FlickrGallery tags="geosap,area-name-flickr-tag" tagMode="all"]]
[[/cell]]
[[/row]]
[[/table]]
Replace Area Name Images with the name of the ski area you have mapped. Then, replace area-name-flickr-tag with the tag you want to use in Flickr. Be sure to tag your page with a matching tag.
After you have filled out this information, save your page and email your complete .kmz file to GEOSAP. Include in the email the name of the ski area you have mapped and a link to the page you created for the area. Be sure to tag your new page with the tag which you filled in for Flickr. To tag a page, click the Tag button on the bottom of the page.
At this point, you can also add any additional information that you would like, such as historical trail map, trivia, or any other information that you feel is relevant. An excellent example of a GEOSAP Areas Page is the Sunday River page. It features accurate counts and three historical trail maps.
After you have created the link, save your page and post in the Forums, under the Mapping Category, in the New Areas Thread. Be sure to write what area you have mapped and provide a link to your page.
Submitting A GEOSAP State Page
Once multiple maps have been created for one state, a page for the state needs to be created. Create a new page titled with the name of the state and select statebox under the template drop-down menu. Fill out all of the variable information similarly to the area information above. Ignore the quikmapsnumber field. A GEOSAP admin will create the map and fill that field in later. Make sure to upload the required screenshot of the Google Earth view of the entire state. Leave all of the GEOSAP information blank. This will be filled in later by the GEOSAP software.
Once all of the variables are filled in, and if all of the areas in a state have been mapped, create a KMZ file containing all of the ski area maps. Upload this to the state site you are working on, and copy the link into the state template in the following format.
[STATEKMZLINK Name of the State]
Then create a bulleted list of all of the ski areas in the state, with the names of the ski areas linking to their corresponding ski area pages. Check all of the links to make sure they are valid, and then post the new state page in the New Areas Thread.
Submitting Photos to GEOSAP
If you wish to submit photos of a resort to GEOSAP, upload your images to flickr and tag them with geosap and the name of the area. Please consult the Tag List Page for a list of tags for ski areas. You can also look at the bottom of every page for the tag that the page is marked with. The GEOSAP tags are identical to the required Flickr tags. The GEOSAP area page will automatically cull the images from Flickr and display them on the correct area page.
