That's cool by me—thanks!

what do you think about this layout, andy? It's in a table, so it could easily be swapped into a horizontal format, with the wish list on top.

I need the list ID to plug into the widget. I searched amazon for a while and couldn't find it.

I made a public wishlist called "GEOSAP" on amazon if you want something more skiing-related to use as a sample.

Amazon Wish List Test

I was thinking we could have a wish list at the top of the page, and then the full browser farther down on the page.

Andy, I checked out your picture on Flickr, but I couldn't find it by searching for any of the tags you used. I had to search user name and view it that way. I guess it takes a while for the Flickr tag database to update. I'd expect your image to show up in the next couple of days.

I edited this page to include a field for the google maps view. All we need to do to view in google maps is to paste the code from the KMZ link into the google maps search bar. Until we figure out the hosting issue, we can still have links to the google maps view in the meantime.

oh, ok. Well, we can do a wishlist, but it doesn't allow full browsing of the entire amazon catalog, only viewing of the items we put on the list. I'll put a wishlist widget up onto a test page so we can see what we think.

Sure regarding the NELSAP book. I was hoping we could create and display a wishlist, rather than just a search term, but oh well.

Re: suggest items by AndyEichAndyEich, 31 Mar 2008 01:52

sure. I updated the widget, trying to find the best search term I could, and this is the best I came up with. If you find antoher term that works well, all I have to do is type it in and it'll update on teh site. NELSAP's book is gonna go on sale soon, and if it's available for sale on amazon, what would you think about putting that in our search box, and maybe putting a specific ad on the sidebar for the book?

Re: suggest items by davidhowland14davidhowland14, 31 Mar 2008 01:04

Is there a way to suggest items on Amazon so they show up in this box? Seems like we should list some ski area history books, etc.

I uploaded my first image into Flickr, and I cannot get it to display in GEOSAP. I added the tags "geosap bestof sundayriver", but it doesn't show up on either the "Best of" page or the Sunday River one. Any ideas?
Once I figure this out, do I delete the "sundayriver" tag so it only shows up in the "Best of" section?

Ok, finally figured out what you meant—must have been having a brain cramp. I have been getting the tag right recently, but didn't notice the Area Name till today. I changed a bunch so far, but now I'm thinking that we should change the heading name in the template to just say "Photos" so we don't have to update the area name. What do you think?

Re: New Areas Mapped by AndyEichAndyEich, 29 Mar 2008 18:42

Added Ascutney Mountain, Bolton Valley, Bromely, Burke Mountain, Pico, and closed areas Haystack and Hogback Mountain in VT. Added closed area Mount Tone in PA. Added closed areas Brodie, Mt. Tom, and Watatic in MA. Added links to a few areas that we'd forgotten to link from the state pages.

I've now uploaded all files in Canada, the Midwest, and the norhteast through New Hampshire. If everyone could hold off on uploading maps until I finish with the site, that would be great. I'll post here when I'm done. This will make it much easier to make sure all maps are hosted on hostfile and are downloaded correctly.

The 1st 15 files I uploaded received 70 hits in about a week. People are downloading from us, which is really cool to see.

Hostfile uploading by davidhowland14davidhowland14, 20 Mar 2008 03:11

Ooops, forgot about that. I'll help move them over as I have time, and will do the Flickr thing too—sorry.

Re: New Areas Mapped by AndyEichAndyEich, 14 Mar 2008 03:03

Andy, just a reminder that all the uploads should be going to Hostfile now. I don't remember if I PMed you the login info or not, but I can resend it if you want me too. Does this sound like a good idea? I'm starting to go through all the currently hosted files and moving them to hostfile but i'll stop if you've got other thoughts on the matter.

And another picky thing. Make sure you're entering the area name in the FLickr section. If you don't enter a name, it says Area Name Images. Be sure to put a tag for flickr in the field when making a page, and to tag the page wiht the corresponding tag. If that's a little confusing, i updated the guide to submissions last week when I came up with that system.

Added Stratton, VT, Sugarbush, VT, Stowe, VT and Mad River Glen, VT. Lifts and boundaries only. Also updated Smuggler's Notch, VT to include boundary. Marked all known areas in Vermont and Maine in quickmaps in anticipation of uploading the remaining ones shortly.
